The All Day Learning Centers staff launched the start of our school’s Sunshine Committee earlier this year in the spring. This new committee aims to spread joy and sunshine all over our campus and community by coordinating exciting activities for our staff, students, families, and greater Hillsborough community.
Spreading Sunshine to Our Staff
Earlier in the month, we held a kick-off event, delivering refreshing watermelon and lemonade to all our staff. Our teachers bring joy, love, and understanding to our children all year. This was one small way for us to say “thank you” and deliver a little sunshine to our teachers.
Community Donation Drive
The Sunshine Committee also held a can drive for the Community Assistance Network in Hillsborough this month. With the help of our All Day Learning Center families, we collected donations of canned goods, toiletries, and cleaning supplies for those in need. We thank all of our families who supported our community drive. Our school collected 20 pounds of food and supplies. We will deliver these donations in late August along with the donations from our upcoming “Stuff the Bus” drive that will collect school supplies for our community. It means a lot to do what we can for the Community Assistance Network and those who need their help.
Talk to Your Children About Charitable Giving
For those with children who are old enough to understand, talk to your children about the importance of helping others. We want children to understand the value of giving and experience the joy that giving and helping others brings. It strengthens a child’s emotional intelligence by learning empathy, generosity, and compassion for others without expecting anything in return. It’s a lovely way to teach respect for others.
We support your family when you need us. We care for children ages from 6 weeks of age to age 13. The All Day Learning Center family offers flexible hours from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Follow us on Facebook and Instagram @alldaylearningcentersnj or, if you are a current family with us, share your experience with other families looking for a new home-away-from-home for their children.
